Wolverine is my favorite superhero. The thought of Wolverine using his claws for barbeque just seems so right. For this assignment, I used photoshop to blend the barbeque pit with the main Wolverine picture. I know it’s not the best but it works.
Developing A Hero
The hero that I have created is called Draconus. His real name is Drake orphaned at a young age and was raised by a dragon. The dragon thought him everything he knows from combat to magic. Draconus is able to do anything a dragon can due to his magic. His signature move is his Dragonic Roar which breaths fire so hot it can melt steel in seconds.
Did a whole lot of editing this week, with lots of different software and apps. I overall enjoy seeing other people’s work on ds106 site.
Here are my assignment posts:

One of my favorite superhero films has to be Iron Man, the movie that kickstarted the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I was introduced to Iron Man in a PS2 game called Marvel’s Ultimate Alliance, the design of Iron Man in that game was true to the comic but it did not catch my eye. Where in this film, the redesign of the suit in a more modern design was just epic! I used imgur to make this gif.
This week’s assignment was very interesting for me. I got to get involved with various types of assignment from the ds106 Assignment Bank. I looked through the assignments picked the following:
Favourite movie clip
Animals Doing Funny Thing
Create a Game of Thrones House
and made my own submission of them with my own interesting titles
- Welcome to Jurassic Park
- Good Home Raccoon You’re Drunk!
- Introducing House Prime!
I realize one thing this week for a world without comic sci-fi super powers, we do have some real one where we can create content out of thin air with our creativity and share it with the world.
For this assignment, I used Gify to converted a Youtube video into a gif. I remember watching the video of a raccoon being so drunk it can hardly walk after having a bit too much to drink in a beer warehouse. Do enjoy!
I’m a huge fan of Game of Thrones. I’m really excited for what’s to come in the last season of the show next year. For this assignment, I used the website jointherealm.com to design my Sigil as you can see below.
For the design, I decide used Prime instead of my last name to sort promote my twitch channel‘s username JJPrime1994. The game controller is also nodding to my streaming channel as well. “Stay intrigued” is the main motto I use everywhere.
When I saw the title, I was instantly hooked to it. I saw the opportunity to make a mashup video of my favorite movie of all time: Jurassic Park. I was introduced to this movie when I was five by my grandpa and loved it ever since. I can’t count the times that I have watched this movie. It also gave me my fascination towards dinosaurs when I was young and dreamt to be a paleontologist but sadly the country that I’m from, Malaysia, doesn’t have any dinosaur fossils. Mainly because they all turned to petroleum.
The progress on how I did this assignment was looking up clips that I wanted on youtube and downloaded them from youtube downloading site called onlinevideoconverter.com. Later I used Sony Vegas Pro to edit and joined the clips together.
- In response to the articles Mickey Mouse & Deadmau5 and A World Without Superheroes on Copyright, I think it’s a smart move for the giant companies to protect their intellectual property but using trademarks that are slightly similar or in general to attack on other people’s property is a selfish move. It limits others’ creativity and gives huge corporate companies a bad name to sue people for a cash garb.
- On Austin Kleon’s post “10 Ways to Share Your Creativity and Get Discovered: Lessons from my book ‘Show Your Work!’”, the idea that stuck to me is learning to take a punch. As of now, I’m trying to establish my own streaming channel for my gaming time. I really have to be prepared for the good, the bad, and the ugly in this. There are people who are going to look down on me for doing this and some may say that it’s a waste of time since I have zero views on my streams. I realize that I just have to keep doing it, take all the criticism and push through.
- This week was an insightful one, Austin Kleon’s article stuck the most to me as I’m trying to establish a web presence through my streaming channel. I straight up bought both of his books in the process.

Based on recommendation, here are the links for my stream sites
If I have superpowers, I would like to have the same superpowers as the Wolverine from the X-Men. I would possess animal-keen senses, enhanced physical capabilities, powerful regenerative ability known as a healing factor, and three retractable bone claws in each hand. At that point, there is no need to fear death.
The first week of classes wasn’t so bad. I’m still trying to adjust my sleep schedule from the Summer. All my classes are very interesting like web development, game development, and graphics software applications. The class that I look forward the most is graphics software applications as I want to master using Adobe’s creative software. The class that I like least is English Exposition, I just don’t like it because I need to do all of reading for that class. The class with the most progress for week 1 is game development as I’m using Unity to make a simple game of Breakout.
This is the progress so far.
